Description
FS4 Intumescent Sealant
FS4 Intumescent Sealant from Bond It is a high-performance acrylic sealant for interior applications that require fire and acoustic protection. It creates a flexible seal around suitable construction joints and penetrations. When exposed to fire, the sealant swells and helps form an inert barrier against the passage of smoke and flames.
The product combines fire-resistant performance with permanent flexibility. This allows the seal to accommodate movement within joints. Its non-shrinking formulation also helps maintain an effective seal after application.
Fire and Acoustic Sealing
The FS4 Intumescent Sealant can provide up to four hours of fire resistance. Actual performance depends on factors such as joint design, sealant depth and the substrates used. The sealant can also help reduce sound transmission through properly sealed joints.
Bond It designed FS4 for a wide range of internal construction systems. Suitable applications include linear joints in floors and ceilings, dry lining systems, partition walls and plasterboard. Contractors can also use it around suspended ceilings and suitable service penetrations.
The sealant can accommodate penetrations around steel pipes. Bond It also specifies applications around copper pipes passing through plasterboard.
Flexible and Easy to Finish
FS4 uses a solvent-free formulation and dries rapidly after application. Users can overpaint the sealant after approximately one hour. This allows subsequent finishing work to continue without unnecessary delays.
Its combination of fire resistance, acoustic performance and flexibility makes it suitable for professional interior construction and fire-sealing applications. The white finish also provides a clean appearance where the seal remains visible.
The product conforms to BS EN 1366-3:2009, EN 1366-4 and EN ISO 10140-2:2010. Always follow the specified joint configuration and application requirements where a particular fire-resistance performance is required.
